Below you will find all the different creatures that thrive on the land of Castel and a description of what each is. This is what you put for the "Group" question in the application.

King, Queen, Prince, Princess, Lord, and Lady.

Also known as the Royals. Each of these humans live in a castle in the captial of the kingdom they rule over. Dukes/Dutchesses only rule over a city while the King and Queen rule the entire kingdom. Lords and Ladies are brethren to the King and Queens while the Princess and Prince are children of the royal court.

Commander, Captain, Knight, Squire, and Page.

The military work under the Kings of their kingdoms. They are usually the ones that go to war. If the kingdom is falling, then as a last resort the king makes his own people go to war. There is only one Commander in every army. There can be multiple Captains, Knights, Squires, and Pages. The Squires and Pages are small boys that are in training, while the other three are the ones out in war. Pages are any boy from the age of 7 - 12, Squires are from the ages of 12 - 17. Then they go through a ceremony called an Accolade and are knighted. A Squire can be knighted at any point in time, but they do not become a full night until they have gone through the ceremony at age 17. Females are not typically allowed to fight for any kingdom. Only under extreme circumstances are they legally allowed to be in the military.

Servants

Servants don't only work for the Royal Court but for any one who is of higher standards. These people can muck out the horse stalls, clean the floors, whatever their job is.

Humans and Outlaws, Witches and Wizards.

Most of the continent of Castel has been invaded by the human race, therefore the human species is more common here. Any human is aligned to a certain kingdom. An Outlaw is a human that is not aligned to a certain kingdom. They come and go as they please... or not really. Usually a certain king, if not more, is after an outlaw, but that does not always have to be so. An Outlaw can just be a traveling human. Witches and Wizards are humans with magical powers, male or female depending on the like. They are more likely to be of the Wiccan religion than any other.

Elf, Dwarf, Goblin, Fairy, Merfolk, Centaur and Satyr

These creatures, and the humans, call themselves the Mythicals. They are what used to be the only species that lived on the land (and water). They had been forced into hiding, slowly coming back out into the open. Now they easily walk among the peoples of Castel, befriending the humans. Some of the creatures are friendly to the humans, while others still carry on the hatred of their ancestors. They want back what is and was rightfully theirs.

Long ago, there was a war raging in the east. Humans struck each other down with their spears and arrows, each fighting for their own life. There was no civility. One great lord told his men to build a ship. They were to sail out of the fight and into a new hope. It was once believed that the world was flat and those men thought their lord was foolish to have them build a ship to their death instead of having a chance here by fighting. But the man made his men build until their ship was strong and sturdy. He took his people and sailed to the edge of the world where they found land.

On this piece of land, they found what they thought were only bedtime stories. All those creatures they heard of at night, elves, dwarves, trolls, unicorns, dragons, and so much more. All those creatures lived on this island. Lord Castel grew greedy for the property of the land. He found it and wanted it all for himself. He forced his men to build him a castle and claimed himself King of all of Castle. The creatures didn’t like this. They wanted peace, no ruler over them, especially some fool hardy man who recently appeared there.

While this was all happening, a sailor that had sailed over with them had decided to go back to the war and tell of the tales he had seen. He told them of new land and the night time monsters that lived there. They listened to him thinking he was god for coming back alive. And so they followed him to the edge of the world.

The biggest war was brought to that new land. A war not only of humans, but of the creatures that lived there, all of them fighting for the ownership of the land. Finally, Castel’s army lost to the groups. It was left to the creatures and the new comers. The sailor was the one who commanded the army of humans. They called him Commander Livalty. Livalty’s army struck down most of the creatures till they were almost extinct. The creatures drew back in the forest before they would only live in the world of bedtime stories.

Livalty’s army rose to greatness. Many armies who had fought for land over the ocean had fought together for more land. But now, they were on new soil with the previous dictator dead and the others hiding in the darkness of the trees. The war didn’t end. It was only moved to a new location.

More years passed, the great 35 year war birthed. Settlements arose under names of leadership including Aloo and Feray, two great leaders of their time. Soon they weathered in age that mortality brings upon us all, now only dust beneath our feet. Commander Livalty made a living in Castel’s old palace. It finished under his nose and he named the city after himself. He too died only a few years after the castle was finished leaving only one blooded heir to his seat.

100 years later, life had gotten tough living under no king. Many fights in the streets from no rules set down and made by commanders. The descendants from each of Commander Livalty decided it was time to choose a new king. They each stepped up to the plate trying to rule as much as they could, each of them were rebelled against. Aloo and Feray were not in a hurry to let someone else be their leader. They’d much rather lead. And so another war broke out over the land.

Finally, the descendants of Feray took the battle in their own hands and gained much of the land in the east. Livalty was under attack. Feray swallowed them up in the act. Soon, Aloo was thrust into the war, on Feray’s side. With the help of each other, Livalty seized, and they gained Livalty’s land. But as always, both Aloo and Feray were hungry for more land, therefore, the war did not end.

The wars raged on for years, neither army retreating. Soon, a youngling from Aloo’s side congregated a new plan as to make this war end. He grabbed his followers and trained them up to be a military force stronger than the world had ever known. They called themselves Libre. Over fifty years, this army trained for attack. The youngling was no longer young; he was getting old and ready for death. As he sat in his chair, realizing this, he knew it was time to take action. Libre led his people to the line of war; Feray was losing at the time. Libre commanded his people that they must fight to the death.

But the mythicals had the same idea. They had retreated all those years ago, only to build up the most fearful army of all. The mythicals fought for their land back giving no mercy. Each of the four armies fought for what they believed was theirs. The armies dwindled down to nothing but blood slaughter all around. Feray decided to retreat to their ocean side, the mountains being their only shield from the war. Aloo retreated to its country side. Libre kept what land was left, the middle north of the continent of Castel. The mythicals dispersed, ready to fight when their plan of attack was ready.

Present day brings us to what the people think of as a happy, easy life. Food on the table, clothes on their backs. The people live in a medieval world, with dragons and dressy outfits. Nothing traumatic has happened since the last big war, 200 years later. But what they don’t know is everyone is planning an attack. Feray isn’t quite so happy with its small kingdom anymore and everyone else is still greedy, wanting the entire continent. The mythicals are planning a revolt and will soon be asking for their land again.
